Accessibility
The Museo Banco de México is a space that is accessible to everyone who wants to visit. We have ramps, elevators and washrooms adequate to our visitors’ needs.
Due to architectural restrictions, people who use wheelchairs cannot enter the vault.
We have accessibility tools for people with special physical, hearing and visual needs.
We have family and disability-accessible washrooms.
Companion dogs are welcome in the museum.
If you have an accessibility request for any type of disability, please indicate this at the time you reserve you entrance ticket. This way we can prepare to give you the best attention possible during your visit.
Services
The Museum has specific services to make your stay more pleasant and safer. Please approach Museum staff members with any doubts you may have.
- We have lockers in which you may keep your personal belongings such as backpacks, jackets, computers. If one of them is too large for the assigned space, you should leave it with a Museum staff member.
- If you arrive on a folding bicycle, skates or skateboard, or you use a stroller, you may leave it in the locker area. Museum staff will offer you guidance.
- Photographs without flash are allowed. If you need to take professional photographs, please write us at contacto.museo@banxico.org.mx so that we can offer you guidance at least 48 hours in advance.
- It is not permitted to take photographs of the uniformed staff members and the security filters. If this occurs, staff members will ask you to erase the images in your camera or other electronic device.
- The Museum offers guided visits. Ask for hours and meet-up areas. If you want a guided visit at a specific time, or you visit us in a group larger than 5 people, contact us at: contacto.museo@banxico.org.mx
- If you find or lose something that is a personal belonging, please go to the security area for guidance.
- Banco de México Museum does not have parking.
Civil protection and security
The Banco de México Museum building is a secure place. Please follow the instructions given by qualified staff members.
- In the event of an emergency, you must follow the instructions given by Museum staff members and Banco de México security personnel.
- People with disabilities are offered aid from the time of their entrance and will be offered explicit help in the event of an emergency. However, if the person does not want the assistance offered, they should express this, thus absolving the Central Bank of any responsibility for any eventuality.
- For security reasons, the Banco de México Museum closes its doors as a preventive measure during events that put the physical integrity of its visitors at risk while they are in the building, and once it is deemed safe to exit, the doors are opened. If a visitor prefers to leave the building while the doors are closed, they can ask the Museum staff for information.
- Keep your ticket since it is needed to leave the installations.
- A video recording system is present inside the Museum.
- At the entrance and exit of the Museum, security staff will ask you to pass through a security control system. In addition, they will ask that your personal objects be placed on a moving band.
- If you wear a cap and dark glasses you should take them off upon your entrance and during your visit.
- It is prohibited to enter the installations of the Museo Banco de México with firearms, sharp instruments, knives, and electronic cigarette lighters. Devices with lasers will be kept by security personnel and returned at the end of your visit.
- It is not permitted to make your visit under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The museum offers a variety of activities and tools for group visits.

Wrap up your visit with a trip to the Museum store, where you can find various items related to the Museum, as well as numismatics.
The store is found in the Mezzanine. Purchases can be made by card or cash.

About the Museum
Accessibility
The Museum has no cost. It is open to all for public enjoyment. You only have to make a reservation at: museobancodemexico.mx
Or directly at the Chapel ticket window, located to the side of the Museum on the Eje Central, -subject to availability.
If you do not have a reservation, go to the ticket office, located next to the Museum on Eje Central, and request your access there —subject to schedule availability, entry times are every fifteen minutes.
This is to avoid exceeding the visitor capacity and ensure that you enjoy your visit, so we appreciate your punctuality.
If you do not have an entrance ticket, go to the Chapel ticket window, located to the side of the Museum on the Eje Central, -subject to availability.

Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The last entry for the museum is at 4:30 p.m.
You can take photographs and short videos with your cellphone or tablet for personal, non-commercial use. You can bring a selfie stick—just be polite to other visitors. Show us your best pictures by tagging @museobancodemexico on Instagram.
Professional cameras need a written permission to be used inside the museum. You can ask for more information about this at: contacto.museo@banxico.org.mx at least 48 hours in advance.
The museum does not have this service, however, there are many options to leave your car around the area.
We have exhibits with accessibility via energized media systems.
Due to the building’s architectural limitations, however, people who use wheelchairs cannot enter the basement vault area.
