Stable Territory
Temporary exhibitionStable Territory explores Banco de México's mission of promoting the sound development of the financial system and fosters the knowledge on the central bank’s task of detecting and managing the risks and vulnerabilities that may affect it, with the goal of maintaining a solid and resilient financial system.
It delves into the factors that affect financial stability, including risks, shocks, integration, and inclusion, among others, with the aim of familiarizing the public with the work of Banco de México in maintaining a stable financial system. This is achieved through risk analyses that address various issues that affect people's daily lives.
The curatorial proposal draws an analogy between the natural ecosystem and the financial system through a narrative that encourages the public to explore a landscape shaped by the dialogue between the curatorial vision and the contemporary artworks featured in the exhibition. In this way, Stable Territory invites us to acknowledge the environment and the challenges it faces, allowing us to incorporate its unpredictability into the existing framework, thereby enhancing our understanding of the territory we will continue to explore.
The exhibition is structured into three main sections and a prologue. It begins with the definition of the financial system and its ecosystem, followed by an exploration of the key factors affecting financial stability in order to understand the role and significance of Banco de México’s mission. The journey concludes with an overview of the issues and risk case analyses, offering a deeper understanding of how a sound and resilient financial system is built.
